SAS delays Dash return
Airline SAS has delayed until Wednesday the resumption of full services involving its ill-starred fleet of Dash planes.
Deliveries of spare parts for the planes' landing gear have meant that the restart will take two days longer https://www.thelocal.se/admin/updateNews.php?newsID=8773than expected, the airline explained.
"Since there are a lot of factors at play - including test flights, spare parts and pilots having to make their way over - we are currently not expecting to be able to fly all our Dash planes until October 17th," SAS spokesman Bertil Ternert told the TT news agency.
Most of the 25 Dash planes operated by SAS Sweden and SAS Denmark will however be ready for take off on Monday.
Earlier this week SAS was forced to abandon flights involving Dash planes on its Stockholm to Berlin and Kastrup to Gdansk routes.
"There were warning lamps indicating engine failure. But that problem has now been fixed," said Bertil Ternert.
The Dash planes, manufactured by Canadian firm Bombardier, have been involved in a series of over the course of the autumn, including two cases in which the landing gear collapsed during landing.
