Sweden to close embassies
Budget cuts are forcing the Swedish Foreign Ministry to close seven embassies and consulates across the world.
Sweden's consulates in Phuket, Gdansk, Hamburg and the Russian Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad are to be closed. Embassies in Angola, Botswana and Nicaragua are to suffer the same fate, according to Svenska Dagbladet.
The closures will be accompanied by the opening of three new embassies - in Kabul, Afghanistan; Khartoum, Sudan and Minsk, Belarus.
