Man gets ten years for roadside murder

A 23-year-old man has been sentenced to ten years in prison for the murder of a 26-year-old man at a roadside picnic area outside Gothenburg.
The victim was run over by a minibus after asking the 23-year-old and his friends to refrain from vandalizing the facilities.
The murder took place on a Saturday night in May at a lay-by on the main road at Alafors, 30 kilometres north of Gothenburg. The 26-year-old was on his way home from a night out when he spotted a group of people vandalizing the picnic area at the side of the road.
He pulled over and got into an argument with several members of the group.
Angered by the intervention, the 23-year-old grabbed a chair and beat the 26-year-old over the head. He then got into his minibus and drove over the man's body. The victim died immediately from the injuries he sustained.
