Injured man attacks ambulance driver

A man who was being taken to hospital in Västerås on Friday night is suspected of attacking an ambulance officer. In the middle of the journey from Surahammar, the ambulance driver issued a 'false alarm' alert.
"The man is suspected of violence against a public official and causinig damage. From what we can tell he attacked one of the ambulance personnel but the details are patchy," said Patrik Skörvald at Västmanland police.
The ambulance was called to a restaurant in Surahammar just before 10pm on Friday following a disturbance.
"A man was walking around with a hammer, but two of my customers took it away from him. I think he had injured himself," said an employee of the restaurant.
