Niclas Fasth finished as top European at this year's US Open at Oakmont.
The Swede recovered from a difficult third round to finish with a par 70, which was enough to secure a fourth place finish behind Angel Cabrera, Jim Furyk and Tiger Woods.
Fasth's performance earned him the highest ever placing for a Swede at the US major.
"It's great to come fourth in the US Open but of course I wanted to win," he told news agency TT.
Fasth received $326,000 (2.3 million kronor) in prize money for entering the clubhouse in fourth place as well as automatic qualification to next year's US Open at Torrey Pines.
"I've played there and I like it. We'll take that as a good sign," he said.

With a 2-1 win away to Malmö, Halmstad have now taken over the baton at the head of the pack in the relay race that is this season's Allsvenskan.
The western Swedish club has a one-point lead over regional rivals Gothenburg, who scored a last gasp winner in their 3-2 victory over Kalmar.
Elsewhere, the clash of the two sides most recently promoted to the top flight resulted in a crushing 4-0 win for Örebro over Brommapojkarna.
Djurgården have a chance to reclaim the top spot if they can follow up last week's defeat of Gothenburg with a win over Hammarby in Tuesday's Stockholm derby.

Sweden's Turin Winter Olympic hero Mats Sundin, who is on pace to set a Toronto franchise scoring record, signed a one-year contract with the Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
The 36-year-old club captain has scored 388 goals in 12 seasons with the Leafs, one shy of tying Darryl Sittler's franchise record. His 909 points are seven from matching Sittler's club mark.
By re-signing, Sundin is likely to set the franchise record for goals and
points.
Financial terms were not disclosed, but Canadian television station TSN reported the deal is worth $5.5 million. The contract also includes a no-trade clause.
Sundin showed no signs of slowing down this past season after recording 27 goals and 76 points in 75 points. He reached several milestones along the way, collecting his 500th career goal, 700th assist and 1,200th point.
Entering his 17th season overall after spending his first four campaigns with Quebec, Sundin has registered 523 goals and 1,243 points in 1,231 career games.
Sundin also has represented his native Sweden at three Olympics and seven World Championships.
He captained Sweden to the country's first Olympic gold medal at the 2006 games in Turin.
Sundin was key on the winning goal, breaking the stick of Finland's Saku Koivu on the face off to start the play that led to teammate Nicklas Lidstrom firing the winning shot.
