Sports digest: Dog bite sidelines Björn Borg

Tennis legend Björn Borg has had his grass court plans undone by a dog.
Borg was scheduled to meet fellow veteran Pat Cash at the Liverpool International event this Friday.
But doctors have told the Swedish star that he must rest after being bitten on his right leg by a German Shepherd when he intervened to ward off a fight with his own Golden Retriever.
"I'm so disappointed that I cannot play at Liverpool," Borg announced on the tournament website. "I've been really looking forward to this event and have been practising hard for four months to get ready."

Philip Bandawe from Zimbabwe won his second consecutive Stockholm Marathon on a scorching hot Saturday in the Swedish capital. The relentless 30-degree heat soon put paid to any ambitions the runners may have had of running the marathon at pace. In fact, the finishing time of 2.20:56 was the slowest on record.
Stomach problems also contributed to slowing down the hot favourite. Bandawe spent some time vomiting after crossing the line and later needed help to climb onto the podium and collect his prize.
Kirsten Melkevik Otterbu from Norway had no such troubles in the women's event. Shortly after finishing in a time of 2.37:03, the victorious mother of two took off for another half hour run to unwind.

The Swedish title race resumed on Sunday after a protracted break for the national team's two successful European Championship qualifiers.
A crowd of just over 14,000 headed to Råsunda stadium in the hope of seeing home side AIK recover the form that saw them clinch second place last season. Örebro meanwhile came to the capital on the back of a poor start to the season, in which they have picked up just eight points from as many games.
In the end the spoils were shared in a game of open attacking football with plenty of chances for both sides. AIK were left feeling somewhat aggrieved after the referee disallowed two goals. But the visitors, headed by Irish coach Patrick Walker, also had their chances to head back to Örebro with three points in the bag.
The remaining games in round nine of Allsvenskan will be played on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Last year's champions Elfsborg currently lead the table by two points with one game more played than their nearest rivals.
