All flights delayed at Arlanda airport

Arlanda airport was hit by major delays on Wednesday morning as technical problems and adverse weather conditions combined to prevent planes from taking off. With the entire area mired in fog, the ground radar system at Stockholm's largest airport suddenly ceased to function.
"Ground control can't see any of the airfield," said Arlanda spokesman Niclas Härenstam at 7am.
The vast majority of flights were delayed in the early morning as only one plane at a time was allowed to enter the runway area either for take-off or landing.
The radar system was back working again at 7.30pm but delays of around an hour are expected for most flights during the morning.
