The plane, a Saab 2000 operated by Skyways, was on a scheduled service to Lycksele. The plane landed successfully just before 10am.

When the plane landed the smoke had dissipated and the aircraft was able to taxi to the terminal.

"The plane has been taken out of service and is to be examined," said Niclas Härenstam, spokesman for airport operator LFV.
