One of the men, aged 54, got the couple to sign a document transferring ownership of their house, in Ekerö, near Stockholm. He then applied to authorities to be recognized as the house's owner.

The 54-year-old also used threats to try to get the couple to pay him a million euros. He said that if they refused their children and other relatives would be injured and killed.

The 54-year old has been charged with attempted extortion and two counts of fraud. His accomplice, 63, has been charged with one count of fraud.
