A belt of high pressure over southern parts is set to spread to the rest of the country in the next 24 hours, according to meteorological agency SMHI.

Southern Sweden can expect temperatures to reach as high as 25 degrees Celcius, which is close to the record for mid-April.

The fine weather is forecast to continue over the course of the weekend. Temperatures in northern Sweden will range from 8 to 15 degrees, while the south of the country will be basking in temperatures of 16 to 25 degrees.

Monday will remain dry, with winds picking up over mountainous regions. SMHI predicts that cooler weather will return to most of the country as the week wears on.
