Sports digest: Ice hockey season reaches semi final stage

Zlatan's success on the field is doubtless galling for the politician from the far right Sweden Democrat party who recently branded Zlatan's posture and speech patterns 'un-Swedish'.

Hammarby have done it again: the Stockholm side lost their sixth Bandy final in eight years despite having led the match 3-0.
Edsbyn somehow clawed their way back into the game before sneaking a vital fourth goal in sudden death extra time to give the team its fourth championship title in as many years.
Golf
A parliamentary tax committee once again dashed the hopes of penny-pinching golfers by ruling that their sport is not to become a tax deductible leisure time activity.
On Thursday the committee decided not to add golf to Sweden's vast pantheon of tax deductible keep-fit activities. Acceptable tax-break activities include: gymnastics, weightlifting, bowling, racquet sports, volleyball, football, yoga, tai chi, qi-gong, stress management, massage, jive, folk dancing, square dancing and jazz dancing.
Skiing
Anja Pärson earned her first World Cup success of the season when she won the women's super-G at Lanzerheide in Switzerland on Thursday. It was Pärsson's 35th World Cup victory in all.
The native of Tärnaby was widely acclaimed as Sweden's best ever skier in when she claimed three gold medals at last month's World Championsips in Åre.
