Online recruitment rises sharply

Online recruitment in Sweden rose sharply in February, with the number of jobs advertised jumping significantly since January.
Greater demand for workers in Sweden, France and the UK made the Monster Employment Index Europe jump seven points last month, from 122 to 129.
In Sweden, the index was up by 21 points, from 136 to 157, meaning significantly more jobs were being posted. A year earlier, in February 2006, the index stood at 111 for Sweden.
In Europe as a whole, online recruitment grew most in banking, finance and insurance. Recruitment in production, manufacturing, maintenance and repair was down.
The Monster index, compiled by online recruiter Monster Worldwide, is based on employer postings on more than 1,400 websites in Europe.
