Vandalism costs boy 1.3 million kronor
A 16 year old boy from has been charged with vandalising a school in Skellefteå in northern Sweden. The local council has asked him to pay 1.3 million kronor in compensation to cover the cost of the damage he caused.
The boy left the school with severe water damage after opening the valve on a fire hydrant.
Accompanied by a friend, the boy entered the school, Ursvikenskolan, on a Friday evening in May of last year.
When rescue services arrived the next day to stem the flow of water, several floors of the school had already incurred serious damage, Sveriges Radio reports.
