Teacher bought out after Holocaust controversy
A Swedish teacher who took part in a recent revisionist Holocaust conference in Iran has agreed to to resign from his job in return for compensation from the City of Stockholm.
Jan Bernhoff, who taught computer studies at Åsö Community College in Stockholm, told newspaper Svenska Dagbladet that he was satisfied with the outcome.
A number of Holocaust revisionists met up in Tehran in December of last year for a conference organised by the Iranian government.
Bernhoff was joined in the Iranian capital by, among others, former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke.
Sweden's sole representative had travelled to Tehran to lecture at the conference. On his website he published a 55-page document prepared especially for his visit to Iran.
In the document Bernhoff lent his support to revisionist sources claiming that 300,000, rather than 6 million Jews, were murdered by the Nazis in the Second World War.
Bernhoff was suspended from his job at Åsö Community College upon returning from Iran.
Now, with the help of his trade union representatives, Bernhoff has negotiated a compensation package.
