Sweden's trade surplus widens

Sweden's trade surplus widened in November by 16 percent to 12.3 billion kronor, from 10.6 billion kronor 12 months earlier, Statistics Sweden said on Thursday.

The value of Swedish exports came to 98.4 billion kronor, an increase of 10 percent from the figure for November 2005. Imports totalled 86.1 billion kronor, a rise of nine percent.

Trade with countries outside the European Union (EU) in November resulted in a surplus of 15.1 billion kronor, while EU trade resulted in a deficit of 2.8 billion.

In the first eleven months of the year Sweden had a trade surplus of 139.2 billion from 132.9 billion in the same period of 2005.
