'Swede's body found' in Ireland

Irish police believe they have found the body of a Gothenburg man who disappeared in December 2004. Olof Jansson, 22, was on honeymoon in County Kerry when he set out on a trek towards Carrantuohill, the country's largest mountain.

The man's body was found at the bottom of a cliff on Sunday evening. A farmer out tending his sheep saw a rucksack at the bottom the cliff and notified the police.

Police conducted a thorough search of the area on Monday and eventually found the body.

An intensive search at the time of the accident proved fruitless. The body had been concealed by heavy shrubbery until a recent minor earthquake disturbed the foliage and revealed the body, according to Göteborgs-Posten.

Nobody had heard from Jansson since he last accessed his mobile phone voice mail in late December 2004, according to the Irish Independent.

Jansson's family has sent over dental records to the Irish authorities in order to ensure a positive identification. But the man's father, taking into account the discovery of a rucksack and clothing, is certain that his son has finally been found.
