Swedish millionaires' luxury lives revealed
Swedish millionaires spend quite a lot of their time and money leaving Sweden, according to an investigation carried out by Connoisseur magazine.
Over half of Swedish millionaires take foreign holidays once every quarter, while a third flee these shores every month of the year.
As being in possession of a million kronor is a relatively modest achievement, Connoisseur defined a millionaire as someone earning more than a million kronor a year, or who has a net wealth of at least five million kronor.
Of those who participated in the study 58 percent are self-employed, 27 per cent are private sector managers, eleven per cent have employee status, 3 per cent are public sector managers and 2 per cent are pensioners. None of them work at The Local.
On an average night out 38 per cent spend between 1,000 and 2,000 kronor, which is not an excessive sum and may explain how they are able to maintain their millionaire status.
Moneyed Swedes enjoy travelling to London, New York and Paris. If they want to top up their tan they tend to hop on a plane to South Africa or Miami Beach.
At Christmas they spend between 5,000 and 10,000 kronor on gifts for their partners. So if you happen to be hooked up with one of these fine specimens you can probably expect a six pack from Systembolaget and a domestic flight ticket from SAS.
Just over a tenth of Swedish millionaires own more than four cars, not all of which are sturdy old Volvos.
Most of the millionaires surveyed own at least two properties, while 34 per cent have four or more residences, ensuring that there are plenty of places like home.
