The suspected bomb is in a rucksack belonging to a 24-year old man, who arrived in Luleå on a bus from Umeå on Wednesday.

During the trip he told a stewardess that he had dynamite in his bag, Dagens Nyheter reports. The bus driver alerted the police. When the man got off the bus in Luleå the bag was left outside the Coop Arena, where it remains.

Bomb disposal experts were on Thursday afternoon examining the object, and had brought in a bomb disposal robot to help detonate the alleged bomb. The drama threatens a top level ice hockey match between Malmö and Luleå, due to be held in the stadium on Thursday evening.
