Several streets around the government buildings were cordoned off on Monday morning after the suspected explosive device was found by some roadworks.

The object was discovered just before 5.30am by the company which is carrying out the work on the street drainage system.

The area between parliament and Sergels torg was initially blocked off. Government offices were not evacuated but people arriving for work were not being allowed through to their offices. Access to the buildings has now returned to normal.
