KappAhl lands Dustin Hoffman for ad role
Swedish women's clothing chain KappAhl has persuaded Dustin Hoffman to appear in its upcoming advertising campaign.
The filming of Hoffman’s commercial has just wrapped in Los Angeles, and is the largest advertising push in the company’s history.
But the Hollywood veteran, famous for his cross-dressing role in the 80s hit Tootsie, will not be modelling the clothes. Indeed, KappAhl said Hoffman would actually only play small role in the commercial.
He will be featured simply saying "You look great" to an everyday woman during an employment interview, Kappahl in a press release.
"We don’t want to use stars as clothes hangers to sell our clothes," said Cathrine Simonsson, the company’s marketing chief.
"Kappahl’s business idea is to create price worthy fashion for many people. For us, it is the average person that plays the lead role."
The two-time Oscar winner will be on Swedish TV starting September 21st.
