Swedes rescued from Norwegian mountain

Three Swedish climbers stranded atop a Norwegian peak had to call police for help getting down after they lost a piece of equipment on Thursday night.

"We had to rescue them with a helicopter, said Oddgeir Slettli, the operation's leader, to Aftonbladet. The call came in shortly before 11 pm and the reached the trio an hour later.

The three men were heading up Norway's Stetind mountain when they lost the gear and became stuck 300 metres from the top.

"They couldn't go on without the thing they dropped," said Slettli. "They were not hurt, and everything went well."
