Storm warnings for southern Sweden
The Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute said on Wednesday that southern reaches of the country could experience severe thunder during the day, warning those sitting at the beach to be careful in the water.
SMHI issued a class-2 warning or Skåne, Halland, Västra Götaland, Dalsland and western parts of Kronoberg och Jönköping districts.
This means that there is extensive and frequent thunder that could cause disruptions in electricity and telephone traffic, and locally it could even mean high wind gusts and sudden rains,” said Isagel Cedefamn, a meteorologist at SMHI.
Cedefamn said it is common to have several class-2 warnings each summer, and added that it is best no to be on high or open places.
