Swedes injured in Egypt bus crash

A tour bus carrying Swedish passengers overturned on Saturday morning in Egypt. The bus was on its way from the resort of Hurghada by the Red Sea to Cairo, on a excursion organised by Fritidsresor when the accident happened.

14 Swedes - ten adults and four children - and eight Danes who were onboard were injured and taken to hospital in Hurghada, according to Fritidsresor.

"The majority just had light cuts and scratches, but many are naturally shocked. We have sent a psychologist down to help them," said Eva Olivecrona in Fritidsresor's press office to TT.

Later on Saturday it was still not clear what caused the accident but Egyptian police have begun an investigation.

All of those involved have been in contact with their relatives in Sweden, Fritidsresor said.
