Summer house prices shoot up

Summer house prices shot up during the first half of 2006, increasing even faster than Stockholm property.

Prices have jumped in southern Sweden, going up 25 percent in Blekinge, 19 percent in Kronoberg, 19 percent in Västra Götland, and even 17 percent in the northwest Jämtland area.

Henrik Roos, spokesman with the survey office Lantmäteriet, said summer house prices are about 1.1 million in Blekinge, and as much as 4.6 million on Lindingö near Stockholm.

The report said cottage prices in the Stockholm area have increased about 10 percent during the past six months.
