Sweden's elderly "isolated and insecure"

A great number of pensioners are also extremely disatisfied with the food which is provided on home service schemes, said the researchers, presenting their study on Tuesday.

"I think part of this makes frightening reading," said Ann Lindgren, chairman of SPF, to Svenska Dagbladet.

"Many feel unsafe and are very worried because they have nowhere to go," she added.
