As part of the 8.3 billion kronor deal with the South Asian country, Saab will provide an airborne surveillance system that, combined with existing ground based radar, provide border security and contribute to the monitoring of natural disasters and rescue operations, a Saab press release said on Thursday.

The system includes Saab 200 turbo prop aircraft equipped with Ericsson Microwave Systems airborne radar system ERIEYE. Two thirds of the order value is for Saab, and the remaining one third is for Ericsson Microwave Systems, which is expected to be a part of Saab in September.

The order will be booked in the second quarter of 2006.
