Swedes uninterested in elections

Swedes are bad at getting involved in elections, with few people attending meetings or putting up posters.

Of 24 countries polled by the SNS Democratic Audit, Sweden came last. The survey showed that Swedes were rarely contacted directly by political parties.

SNS also analyzed the role of the media in elections. It found that the mass media were becoming less influential, with other methods of communication such as blogs becoming more important.

"Swedish voters come across as reasonably well-informed but fairly jaded spectators of the political game," SNS wrote in a press release.

Sweden holds local and national elections on September 17th.
