Robbery gang exposed in Stockholm
Police in Stockholm have exposed a gang suspected of planning to rob cash transport vehicles.
One of the suspects detained by police has links to a person convicted for planning the 26 million kronor robbery of a Securitas depot in Akalla, near Stockholm, on 25th August last year.
Police raided a basement in western Stockholm on Thursday. A police unit specialised in crime related to the pub and restaurant trade had been watching the premises for some time.
Police found large amounts of explosives and other bomb-making equipment in the basement. They also found a dummy gun and equipment believed by police and prosecutors to be intended for use in another robbery.
Two men linked to the premises have been arrested, both suspected of planning a major robbery.
