140 Norwegians ejected from Swedish ski resort

ÖSTERSUND. 140 Norwegian students have been thrown out of the Swedish ski resort of Åre after two nights of wild partying and threatening use of herring.

Their behaviour was causing a disturbance and, according to the local paper, involved malicious snowball throwing.

"It's unfair that everyone should suffer when they could have just got rid of the ten or so who were causing the trouble," said one of the disgruntled Norwegians.

The decision to eject the students was made after two nights' revelry at the Torvtaket residence owned by Skistar in central Åre.

The students apparently behaved threateningly when a security company showed up, throwing herrings and snowballs at the guards.
