All three deny the charges. One of the men has been working as a police informer.

Early on the morning of August 25th, three men armed with automatic weapons and a large digger forced their way through the gates at the Securitas cash depot in Akalla.

After accessing the cash they escaped in two cars, throwing spikes into the road behind them to stop the police pursuit. Both cars were later found burned out.

Two of those charged, a 35 year old and a 32 year old, were arrested by police on September 15th. On the evening of September 30th, the third man was arrested. The three men come from the Järfälla and Sundbyberg areas outside Stockholm.

According to the prosecutor, Henrik Söderman, the three stole four cars and the digger before the robbery. They have also been linked with blowing up a cash machine in Upplands Väsby, north of Akalla.
