"We do not suspect any crime behind the incident," said police inspector Inga-Lill Fransson to TT.

The body will undergo a post mortem on Monday and police are not giving a definitive opinion of what caused his death until they have the results.

Divers discovered the corpse at around 4.20pm on Thursday, several hours after police dogs alerted the search team to the precise area of water in Nybroviken.

Victor Ronér failed to come home to his mother after an evening out with friends in Stockholm. He was last seen at 2 am on Sunday outside a 7-Eleven store in central Stockholm. But the last trace of him was at 2.18am when a mobile mast by Berzelii Park received a signal from his telephone.
