News agency TT reported that the man, along with a 17 year old who has a record of serious assault, attempted to sneak away from his prison officers.

They stopped him in the courthouse reception, but at that point parents and friends stepped in, "punching and kicking" the guards. In the chaos, the two troublemakers did a runner.

The parents were arrested at the scene. They were later released but are now facing charges of aiding an escape and violence against prison officers.

On Thursday afternoon the 17 year old was nabbed "undramatically" by police in Sundsvall. The 18 year old is still on the run.
