Telia rolls out mobile TV

TeliaSonera has announced that its four million mobile customers can now watch live TV broadcasts on their mobile phones.
The company has already experimented with screening major events, such as the Eurovision Song Contest and the Olympics, to customers with 3G phones. But this is the first time that customers will be able to view regular broadcasts throughout the day.
TV content will be supplied by three channels. TV4 will provide news and weather, The Voice TV will provide music videos and Star! will provide entertainment news.
"Demand is increasing for more mobile TV," said Indra Åsander at TeliaSonera Sweden.
According to a poll carried out by the company, the greatest demand is for mobile TV on train journeys.
