New body parts ?belong to ice man?

Body parts found in the water in Stockholm on Sunday appear to come from the same man whose head and limbs were found on the ice at Riddarfjärden, near the capital’s old town, at the end of March, police have said.

The latest discovery was made by a woman who saw a sports bag in the water at Danvikstull bridge in the city. Police at the scene opened the bag and saw that it contained body parts.

The human remains found on Riddarfjärden were shown after DNA testing to belong to a man. A photograph of the head was released to the press, although the man’s identity remains a mystery.

Police say that while it appears that both sets of remains belong to one person, they are still awaiting the results of DNA tests.

An appeal has gone out to members of the public who might have seen something suspicious in connection with the dumping of the body at Danvikstull. Police say that they are looking closely at the bag in which the remains were found, in the hope that it will provide some clues as to the identity of the killers.
