Peab to build new motorway
Construction company Peab has won a contract to extend Bärbyleden in Uppsala. The contract is reportedly worth 293 million kronor.
The new motorway will be 2.6 kilometres in length and have two lanes in each direction. The motorway will pass the Röbo roundabout, where the E4 currently goes northwards, and then continue eastwards to the new E4.
The contract also covers the construction of twelve bridges, maintenance work and soil reinforcement.
The new section of the E4 is expected to be completed by October 2007.
