Council "pays off" sex abuse suspect

Södertälje council has allegedly 'paid off' a male carer facing accusations of sexually abusing a patient at the nursing home where he was working.
According to Expressen and TT on Tuesday, the man was told he could no longer work for Södertälje Council when a police investigation began in November last year. Now, the council has offered him eight months' redundancy pay, without taking the investigation into account when reviewing his terms and conditions as an employee.
In an agreement with the council the man will voluntarily leave his position and his employment within the council will be terminated. However, they will give him a sum of up to 165,892 crowns.
