Public sector gets biggest pay rise

According to Statistics Sweden and the Arbitration Institute, employees within the public sector received higher wage increases than employees in the private sector in 2004.

County council employees received the highest average wage increase at 4.5 per cent. The lowest increase within the public sector was 3.3 per cent.

Volvo Trucks close to achieving dream

Volvo Trucks is close to producing 100,000 delivered trucks per year and has great expectations for both the North American and European markets.

"Our forecast for North America is an increase of 15-20 per cent and in Europe we are estimating an upswing of five per cent," says Staffan Jufors, newly appointed chief executive of the company.

Exchange to look at Bonnier-Proventus links

The Stockholm Stock Exchange is to investigate whether there is a link between Bonnier and Proventus, which together have holdings in TV 4 and Alma Media that are clearly above the level that would normally trigger off a bid.

Speculation is rife that Bonnier and Proventus are working in alliance in a bid to circumvent regulations.
