Swedes adopting more girls than boys
According to Metro on Tuesday more girls than boys are being adopted in Sweden at the moment, and the number is increasing by the day.
Up to 60 per cent of adopted children are girls, mainly from India and China. Last year 1,098 children were adopted. 386 of them were from China "but only 21 of them were boys".
The same imbalance applies to adoptions from India. Last year Swedish families adopted a total of 37 girls from India, but they only adopted six boys. Those who have gender preference when adopting usually choose a girl as they believe "they are not as much hard work", reported Metro.
